The idea for Porthole for a T-light was born back in 1996, the year Delite was founded by Peter Seidelin Jessen and Poul Brandt Jensen.

A simple tealight holder in a maritime design, inspired by a porthole on a ship.

Originally without glass, it was almost forgotten in Peter's desk drawer for 10 years. Until one day Poul came back from a customer visit and told him that their customers were asking for small tealight holders with a base, ring and glass tube. ‘This one,’ exclaimed Peter, pulling the almost forgotten drawing out of the drawer. The glass was added and Porthole was born! A hole in the bottom was added to ensure a cooling airflow for the tea light.
