Lifebuoys

A lifebuoy is a floating device (a type of buoy) used in water rescue.
A lifebuoy consists of a ring of hard, buoyant material such as cork or foam covered with fabric, with a ring of rope attached to the outer edge.
Lifebuoys should be placed on boats, at docks, in harbors and other coastal areas.
They are not to be confused with swim rings, which are used as toys.

The lifebuoy may have been invented by Leonardo da Vinci. It was certainly in one of his sketches. And now you can find them almost anywhere there is water. Often a lifebuoy is also equipped with a line to catch the victim. When a lifebuoy is deployed, it is thrown past the casualty, who then grabs it while being pulled toward him by the line.

The beautiful lifebuoys from Nauticum are decorative and can also be used in an emergency, but they are not approved by Norske Veritas, so use them only in the spirit of the maritime atmosphere.

The lifebuoys come in blue and red and in many sizes, some of which you can mirror yourself in.
