portholes/mirrors

Nauticum has decorative portholes with mirrors and built-in portholes. Portholes for installation are not intended for installation on a ship, but can be used decoratively in interior doors.

A ship's porthole is a round window, usually opened with a screw, mounted on the deck or side of the ship to bring light and air into the cabins. The round shape is due to the fact that glass is strongest in the round shape.

But portholes - why are they called that? When a steamer roars through the night, the glowing lightbulbs can look like a bull's eyes.
In English it used to be called "bulls eye", but today it is called "porthole".

Bulls Eye is also the point on a target.
