18°C or below = all 7 balls are gathered at the top

20°C = 6 balls at the top, 1 ball at the bottom

22°C = 5 balls at the top, 2 balls at the bottom

24°C = 4 balls at the top, 3 balls at the bottom

26°C = 3 balls at the top, 4 balls at the bottom

28°C = 2 balls at the top, 5 balls at the bottom

30°C = 1 ball at the top, 6 balls at the bottom

Over 30°C = all balls are gathered at the bottom.



The weight of each glass sphere varies minimally, and the spheres rise or fall due to the respective temperature change in the room.

If the temperature rises, the spheres fall; if the temperature falls, the spheres rise.

The bottom sphere of the spheres, floating highest in the thermometer, indicates the current temperature.
