Soap has been around for thousands of years and dates back to the 4th millennium BC. Soap, however, was not what we know as soap today. It was a mixture of potassium chloride and tallow - this type of soap was used as a hair pomade, for washing textiles and as a healing agent against damage. The Greeks and Egyptians further developed the then known soap recipes, but it was the Romans who began to use soap for personal hygiene.

Soap as we know it today dates back to the 7th century AD: The Arabs began cooking fat and lye together, and the art of making soap spread to Central Europe.
Spain, France and Italy developed into soap-making centers. The French city of Marseille became a true capital of soap making from the 9th century AD.

It was also in France that they started adding scents like lavender. The fine soap spread very quickly in the courts of Europe, but it remained unaffordable to the public. The soap was not used for personal hygiene - it was rather used for cosmetic purposes and sometimes also for shaving. Until about 300 years ago, people preferred to powder and perfume themselves rather than wash themselves.

Soap is produced by a reaction between lye and fat. Solid soaps are a mixture of caustic soda and fat or oil (eg coconut oil, palm oil, beef tallow or olive oil). The soap mixed with high quality oils, moisturizing ingredients, natural colors, perfumes, plant extracts and special ingredients.

A soap is a true all-rounder - whether it is the "normal" soap, hair soap or a special facial soap. Each bar of soap can be used for the whole body and unfolds its unique cleansing and care effect - whether it is on the hands, feet, body or face.

• The soaps cleanse the skin particularly gently.
• Due to the saponified oils and fats, the added additives or the contained wax cream, they care for the skin directly during washing and support its natural functions.
• The soaps are alkaline and increase the moisture content of the skin.
• They can be used to cleanse the whole body, including the face.
• In principle, bacteria have no chance of adhering to real soap.
• Soaps are ecologically compatible and very readily biodegradable.
• Soaps are very economical to use.
• Soaps are produced in a special resource-saving way, there is almost no waste.
