Model of Bluenose - Canadian schooner from 1921
Bluenose was a Canadian fishing and racing schooner from Nova Scotia, Canada, built in 1921. An honorable ship and hard working fishing vessel. Commanded by Angus Walters, the Bluenose became an icon of Nova Scotia and an important Canadian symbol in the 1930s. The ship was called the "Queen of the North Atlantic" and served as a working vessel until she was scrapped in 1946. She was later commemorated with a replica "Bluenose II", built in 1963. The name originated as a nickname for Nova Scotians from as early as the late 18th century.
